The Role We’re looking for a senior engineer who is ready to move beyond traditional software development and take full ownership of product delivery. This is not a classic backend engineering role. You will work directly with Product to turn ideas and requirements into production-ready solutions, make the technical decisions, and use AI coding agents as a core part of your engineering workflow. You will own the outcome, not just the code. AI-generated code is your code, and you are accountable for its quality, security, performance, and maintainability. What makes this role different • End-to-end ownership: Own features from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring. • AI-native development: Use AI coding agents as a core part of your daily workflow across development, testing, debugging, documentation, and automation. • Engineering judgment: Review, challenge, and validate AI-generated solutions, making sure what gets shipped is correct, secure, scalable, and maintainable. • Product partnership: Product owns the what, you own the how. Work closely with Product to understand the problem, challenge assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, and find pragmatic technical solutions. • Broad technical ownership: Strong software engineering fundamentals and solid understanding of architecture and design principles. Python and Django will be the primary technologies, but you will take responsibility for whatever is required to deliver a feature, including frontend, QA, automation, infrastructure, and integrations • Outcome focused: Success is measured by the quality and impact of what you ship, not by the amount of code you write. What you’ll do • Own product features end-to-end, from requirements through production and monitoring. • Work with Product to translate business problems into clear technical solutions and execution plans. • Design scalable and maintainable solutions, including architecture, APIs, data models, and integrations. • Use AI coding agents to accelerate implementation, testing, debugging, and automation. • Review and improve AI-generated code, ensuring high standards for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability. • Make independent technical decisions and communicate architectural trade-offs clearly. • Contribute across backend, frontend, QA, CI/CD, and infrastructure when needed to deliver a feature. • Investigate and solve complex production and performance issues. • Continuously improve how we build, test, and ship software using AI-native development practices. About you Must have • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience. • 7+ years of experience building and shipping production software, with a strong track record of owning features or systems end-to-end. • Strong system design fundamentals and experience building scalable SaaS systems in the cloud. • Ability to make sound architectural decisions independently and understand technical trade-offs. • Solid understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, distributed systems, microservices, and testing. • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar. • Strong ability to review, challenge, and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on it blindly. • Strong product mindset, with the ability to balance technical and business priorities and focus on solving the underlying problem. • Strong ownership mentality and ability to drive work independently from idea to production. • Excellent communication skills and high proficiency in English, with the ability to work directly with Product and engineering teams. Nice to have • Experience with modern frontend technologies, particularly Angular. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Helm. • Familiarity with Celery, RabbitMQ, event-driven architectures, or streaming systems. • Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and Kubernetes. • Experience with QA automation and end-to-end testing.
The team + the role The Mobile SDK team at Pendo develops and maintains the Pendo mobile product — our native SDKs for iOS and Android, along with integrations across React Native, Flutter, MAUI, and CMP. We work deep in OS internals, maintain rigorous automation and release pipelines, and collaborate closely with customers to ensure their success with the product. A single defect in our SDK can affect thousands of host applications, so quality isn't a value we aspire to — it's the baseline we ship against. Pendo's mobile SDK enables businesses to collect detailed analytics and visual session replays on user behavior within their mobile applications — without extensive coding. That data helps customers understand how users interact with their apps and enables delivery of targeted in-app messages and guides that improve experience and drive adoption. As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll work on a product that is technically demanding, customer-visible, and genuinely consequential. You'll use AI coding tools as a core part of your workflow — and apply the same engineering rigor and review discipline to AI-generated code as you would to anything written by hand. This role is based in Herzliya, Israel and follows Pendo's in-office model: in-office 3 days per week. What this looks like day-to-day • Design, implement, and maintain new SDK features, ensuring seamless integration with the broader Pendo mobile product across iOS and Android. • Dive deep into OS internals to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the SDK functions correctly across all supported devices and OS versions. • Contribute to SDK development across mobile frameworks — Flutter, React Native, MAUI, and CMP — ensuring compatibility and performance in each environment. • Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) as a core part of your daily workflow; apply strong engineering judgment and review rigor to AI-generated code before it ships, holding it to the same bar as hand-written code. • Write clean, efficient, maintainable code with a strong focus on quality — developing unit tests, implementing automated testing, and participating in code reviews. • Provide technical support to international customers: troubleshoot issues, guide them through solutions, and lead live conversations with adequate English proficiency. • Partner closely with product managers, designers, customer-facing teams, and other engineers to align on goals and deliver the best possible mobile experience. Who you are Beyond the qualifications, we hire through a specific lens. These aren't buzzwords; they're the things we'll actually look for in how you talk about your work. You're a builder, not a maintainer. You're most energized when there isn't a clear path yet, and you get to define it. You don't wait for direction; you identify gaps, shape solutions, and drive them forward. At Pendo, great Mobile SDK engineers don't just implement to spec — they understand the host application context their code runs inside, anticipate failure modes, and hold the quality bar high because they know the downstream consequences when they don't. You're AI-curious — genuinely. You're not using AI tools occasionally. You're rewiring how you work around them. You're faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it — and you bring the judgment to know when to rely on AI output and when to verify, correct, or reject it. In SDK work, that distinction matters: AI-generated code that looks right and ships wrong can break thousands of production apps. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier and applies the same rigor to its output as to their own. Must-haves • 3–4+ years of experience in iOS or Android app development and/or mobile SDK development, including 2+ years of hands-on experience with Objective-C or Kotlin. • Deep understanding of either the iOS or Android platform — performance optimization, memory management, and behavior across OS versions and device types. • A genuine passion for mobile development and the flexibility to work across different frameworks and environments as the product evolves. • Strong English verbal communication skills and a customer-centric mindset — you can lead a live troubleshooting conversation with an international customer clearly and confidently. • Strong collaboration skills: you work well with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams and communicate clearly across disciplines. • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Nice-to-haves • Prior experience developing and maintaining mobile SDKs specifically — not just mobile apps. • Hands-on development experience with Flutter, React Native, Xamarin Forms, or MAUI. • Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications or SDKs. • Knowledge of mobile security best practices and data protection standards. • Practical, day-to-day use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) in a professional development workflow. About Pendo Pendo was founded in 2013 by former product managers, who combined their heads and hearts to build something they wanted but never had as product managers: a simple way to understand and attack what truly drives product success. About the Role Build the sensor that Neo's whole product depends on: a privileged, cross-platform systems program written in Rust. Everything Neo shows a security team starts on the endpoint. The sensor is the organization's presence on each machine - responsible for collection, posture and visibility, and local enforcement of the organization's security policies. Doing that well means running deep in the operating system on Windows, macOS and Linux: always on, trusted with elevated access, and never in the way. In this role, you will own major development projects and take the lead on architecting solutions across our core feature set, we expect you to drive projects with a focus on high-performance execution and efficiency, maintaining rigorous standards for code quality, design integrity, and comprehensive testing. What You'll Do • Drive end-to-end feature ownership: Lead features in critical components of our sensor for macOS, Windows, and Linux from initial architectural design through deployment, actively presenting progress and technical outcomes. • Tackle large-scale stability and performance optimization: Utilize agentic coding tools to navigate unfamiliar OS APIs, validating system behavior against documentation, test suites, and actual hardware. • Collaborate to deliver high-impact security solutions: Partner across teams to build internal tooling, test infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines that enhance codebase maintainability and developer velocity. Tech You'll Work With • Systems Programming: Low-level development in Rust, targeting Windows, macOS, and Linux (memory, processes, files, and OS internals). • AI-Assisted Development: You will lean heavily on agentic coding tools as a core part of the development lifecycle, not as a bonus. • Full-Stack Systems: You will range across OS internals, AI tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and reverse engineering. What You'll Bring • 5+ years of systems programming in Rust, C, or C++, working close to the OS. • System Fundamentals & OS Internals: In-depth knowledge of OS internals (memory, processes, filesystems). • Strong Debugging & Troubleshooting Skills: Proven execution in deploying functional software with the discipline to verify low-level system behavior. • Agentic Fluency: Hands-on mastery of agentic coding workflows (context management, prompt steering, and code verification) integrated directly into systems programming. • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Communicate effectively, mentor peers, and drive team outcomes in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. Bonus: • Deep OS Internals: Advanced understanding of core system architecture and sub-system mechanics. • Performance Engineering: Demonstrated ability to architect highly scalable, lightweight, and performant systems. • Security-Oriented Development: Experience or familiarity with Windows security concepts, macOS endpoint security framework. • Familiarity of AI harnesses architecture
Senior Low Level Engineer - Infrastructure About the Role Build the agent that Neo's whole product depends on: a privileged, cross-platform systems program written in Rust. This role owns the hard parts of it. What you'll work on • The low-level, OS-level infrastructure the sensor is built on: the layer that handles low-level and OS-level operations directly and turns raw platform capabilities into reliable building blocks for everything above it - installation and deployment, endpoint security frameworks, network visibility, driver-adjacent work and more. • Infrastructure that is the backbone of the product — code where stability, correctness, and quality aren't aspirations but the actual job, because every feature Neo ships stands on it. • The sensor's core capabilities on top of that foundation: collection, posture and visibility, and local enforcement of the organization's security policies. • Reliability engineering for software that can't fail quietly: crash handling, recovery, and keeping the agent healthy and hard to tamper with on machines no one is watching. • The full lifecycle of a production system agent: how it ships, installs, updates, and runs unattended across a customer fleet. Tech you'll work with The work is low-level systems development in Rust, close to the operating system across Windows, macOS, and Linux - memory, processes, files, networking and the OS internals that expose them. Alongside that, you'll lean hard on agentic coding tools; deep fluency with at least one is central to how we work, not a bonus. Expect to range across the stack - OS internals, AI tooling internals, CI, and a fair amount of reverse engineering - and to learn the parts you don't know yet. What we're looking for • 5+ years of systems programming in Rust, C, or C++, working close to the OS. • Hands-on experience with the internals of at least one of Windows, macOS or Linux (services or daemons, process and file APIs, security frameworks and low level development). • Experience shipping and operating production-grade software for a large customer base - you understand what enterprise-grade means in practice: reliability across thousands of diverse environments, upgrades that can't break anyone, and problems you only ever see through telemetry • Strong ownership and independence - you drive your work end to end, stay independent without going dark, and keep the customer's experience in view even when you're ten layers deep in the OS. • A team player with strong communication skills - you explain deep technical work clearly, surface problems and discuss them, resolve technical disagreements with arguments rather than ego, and make the people around you better. Nice to have • A security background - endpoint protection, EDR/MDM, or any product whose job is defending machines rather than just running on them. • Networking - protocols, secure transport, and how software behaves on real-world networks; hands-on experience with traffic inspection, interception, or network visibility tooling is a real plus. • Deeper AI knowledge - beyond daily tool use: how models and agents work under the hood, or experience building agentic workflows and evaluating their output. • Applied cryptography - you've worked with encryption, signing, or trust chains in real systems, not just used a library blindly. • Backend / Full stack knowledge and understanding.

Beyond ensuring system stability, you will also have the opportunity to contribute directly to core product features and work extensively with modern AI technologies, leveraging them to automate internal workflows and enhance our platform. If you enjoy root-cause analysis, debugging complex system behaviors, working heavily with AI tools, and writing hotfixes that empower both the R&D and Customer Success teams, this position is for you. Key Responsibilities • Issue Diagnosis & Root Cause Analysis: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal R&D technical escalations, investigating bugs, system edge cases, and platform anomalies. • Protect Sprint Velocity: Shield product squads from day-to-day operational distractions by analyzing, prioritizing, and resolving technical blockers. • Code, Hotfixes & AI Integration: Write scripts, bug fixes, micro-features, and patches directly within our codebase. Leverage AI tools to optimize processes and develop AI-driven internal workflows. • Cross-Functional Collaboration (CS Focus): Serve as the primary R&D focal point for Customer Success, partnering closely with them alongside DevOps, Product, and feature squads to translate recurring issue trends into long-term architectural improvements. • Developer Enablement: Maintain and improve internal tooling, staging environments, diagnostic workflows, and developer documentation. Requirements Requirements • Min. 4 years of experience in Software Engineering, Developer Support Engineering, or high-tier Technical Operations. • 2+ years of experience with AI tools & "Vibe Coding": Proven experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude) to accelerate coding, alongside hands-on experience integrating AI capabilities or LLMs into workflows. • Strong hands-on coding and debugging skills in modern web development stacks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or similar). • Solid understanding of REST APIs, backend microservices, modern databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure concepts. • Experience with log management, monitoring, and debugging tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Kibana, Postman). • Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset—ability to read code, trace errors across system boundaries, and isolate root causes independently. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly to internal developers, product stakeholders, and directly with customers during high-tier technical escalations. Nice to Have • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field. • Prior experience working in a fast-paced SaaS or PropTech environment (e.g., Madlan ecosystem). • Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Kubernetes.
