Job Description ServiceNow seeks a senior staff-level product security engineer to serve as a senior technical authority within the Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT). PSIRT is ServiceNow's awareness, response, and investigation capability for post-release vulnerabilities in ServiceNow-developed products and service offerings. This role is for a recognised expert who can operate independently and as part of a team on the most significant security issues facing the platform—vulnerabilities that require evaluating intangibles. You will lead deep-dive investigations, coordinate resolution across engineering, product, and release teams, and demonstrate calm, decisive leadership during significant security events. This is a role for someone who already understands product development cycles and the engineering and product relationships that drive them—and will use that fluency to lead fixes to completion under incident pressure. You will help shape how ServiceNow responds to product security vulnerabilities at scale and the technical rigour of the entire response capability. The coverage provided by this role is: • Sunday: 10:00 - 18:00 UTC. • Monday: 08:00 - 16:00 UTC. • Tuesday: 08:00 - 16:00 UTC. • Wednesday: 08:00 - 16:00 UTC. • Thursday: 08:00 - 16:00 UTC. Due to the nature of incident response and the needs of the business, coverage may change. Additional coverage outside of stated hours may be required in response to significant incidents. Key Responsibilities Lead Through Significant Security Events • Demonstrate technical and organisational leadership during these events—bringing structure and clear decision-making under pressure. • Partner with incident commanders, business information security leadership, engineering, and customer-facing teams to maintain clear ownership, workstream prioritization, and hand-offs during these events. Reduce Exposure Window • Drive coordinated response across affected releases, balancing risk and remediation feasibility. • Leverage an understanding of product development cycles and engineering/product partnerships to move fixes through the release pipeline without stalling on organisational boundaries. • Verify fix completeness and guard against incomplete mitigations before release. Drive the CVE & Coordinated Disclosure Process • Collaborate with external security partners, vendors, and researchers on coordinated disclosures, aligning timelines and messaging across parties. • Conduct technical accuracy reviews of external advisories, researcher write-ups, and joint disclosure content to ensure correctness before publication. • Represent PSIRT's technical position in multi-party coordinated disclosures and researcher engagements. Pursue After-Action Outcomes & Continuous Improvement • Author postmortems and drive lessons learned to closure following product security incidents. • Participate in retrospectives following significant product security events, translating findings into concrete process and technical improvements. • Contribute to partner teams tracking product security risk themes and trends across the portfolio. • Contribute to SDLC improvement areas, feeding incident learnings upstream into secure development practices. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you have: Qualifications • Minimum 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience. • Minimum of 5 years of auditing source code for security vulnerabilities. • Demonstrated leadership during significant security events or major incidents, with willingness to participate in on-call. • Ability to read and comprehend Java and JavaScript code. • Strong understanding of common Java and JavaScript vulnerabilities. • Proficiency in scripting in both Python and JavaScript for data gathering, processing, and visualisation. • Development of proof-of-concept exploits for web application vulnerabilities. • Written and verbal communication of complex security risks clearly to both technical teams and leadership. • Experience with leading fix implementation and release coordination across engineering, product, and test/release teams. • Proficiency in deep-dive product security investigations and root-cause analysis spanning design, code, configuration, and operational layers. • Exploit analysis and proof-of-concept development that distinguishes real exploitability from theoretical risk. • Familiarity with SDLC integration, CI/CD pipelines, SaaS threat models, and secure development practices. • Experience leading a CVE disclosure process, including CVE assignment, scoring (CVSS), and advisory publication. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in a PSIRT or similar function for a major software or SaaS platform. • Recognized expertise in product security incident response, vulnerability research, or application security within a software or SaaS environment. • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments on the ServiceNow platform. • Experience with emerging threats: AI-specific attack vectors, software supply chain security, and SDLC tooling security. • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments. • Relevant security certifications (e.g., OSWE) or demonstrated equivalent expertise. Sr Software Engineer
ServiceNow · Petah Tikva

Job Description About the role We are hiring a Sr. software engineer for the Telemetry Data Platform team, which carries product usage telemetry & performance telemetry for the entire ServiceNow platform on a stack built with Kubernetes, Kafka, and ClickHouse. We are distributed across Israel, India, and the Americas.  This is a full stack role with its center of gravity firmly on telemetry development, data pipelines, Kubernetes and DevOps work, supporting Billions of records per day. You will be equally comfortable designing a distributed system and owning it in production. If you like following a system from the event that fires to the chart that renders — and you want the pager for it — you will feel at home.  You will lead design and delivery of complex, multi-service features, own technical decisions within a domain, and are fully self-directed — escalating only genuine ambiguities and driving decisions to closure. Of the ten critical skills at this level, incident response management is the only one set at Expert; the rest are Experienced.  What you’ll do Telemetry data pipelines • Design, build, and own backend services for distributed data streaming and processing that handle high-volume, high-cardinality event data with predictable latency and no silent data loss.  • Build and maintain Kafka-based streaming pipelines and the pipeline components that feed ClickHouse.  • Own data modeling and query performance in ClickHouse — partitioning, sort keys, materialized views, retention, and the cost curve that comes with all of it.  • Partner with product and platform teams to shape requirements for telemetry ingestion and processing, then drive the solutions to production.  Kubernetes, DevOps, and production ownership • Deploy, scale, and operate services in production Kubernetes environments, including Helm-based deployments and CI/CD pipelines that make releases repeatable and safe to roll back. • Own observability for what you build — meaningful metrics, useful logs, real tracing, and alerts that fire on customer impact rather than on noise. • Debug and resolve production incidents independently, participate in on-call, run root-cause analysis, and operate against defined service level objectives. Full stack engineering and technical leadership • Own the full development lifecycle for your work, and build the backend services and APIs that expose telemetry to internal consumers, product surfaces, and AI agents — including API contracts, data models, and schema migrations. • Contribute to the analytics front end — dashboards, funnels, and exploration tools — with an eye on performance against large result sets, and improve the web and mobile capture SDKs. • Lead the design of complex, multi-service features across team boundaries, drive decisions to closure, and write the design docs and postmortems that outlive the conversation. • Raise the bar through code review, test strategy, and automation coverage, and mentor engineers on the team. Qualifications Experience and education requirements The job profile defines by scope, independence, and impact rather than years served. The minimums below are the screening bar for this requisition: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related – Required • 6+ years’ experience as backend software engineer • 4+ years’ experience in designing and operating distributed systems • 3+ years’ experience with Kubernetes in production, including Helm and CI/CD • 3+ years’ experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming and data pipelines • Experience with on-call and production support A master’s degree may offset up to one year of the experience minimum. Equivalent practical experience is considered where technical depth is clearly demonstrable. Required qualifications • Strong backend development experience in Java, Python, Go or equivalent, used in production at scale. • Hands-on experience building distributed systems for data streaming, processing, and storage. • Production experience deploying and managing services on Kubernetes, including Helm and CI/CD pipelines. • Working knowledge of Kafka or an equivalent messaging and streaming system. • Solid SQL skills and hands-on experience with a columnar or analytical data store, including query optimization and physical data modeling. • Demonstrated depth in incident response and customer escalations • Enough front-end capability to build and debug a data-heavy interface: JavaScript or TypeScript with React or Angular. Desired qualifications • Production experience with ClickHouse or another OLAP or columnar store — sharding, replication, materialized views, cost tuning. • Exposure to observability tooling: OpenTelemetry, metrics and logging stacks, alerting platforms. • Experience building product analytics or telemetry platforms, or with stream processing frameworks such as Flink or Spark. • Client-side instrumentation — web or mobile SDK development, event capture, session and consent handling. AI skills Artificial intelligence strategy is a critical skill at Experienced proficiency — it applies to how you build and to what you build. • Confident use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, paired with the critical eye to review AI-generated code as rigorously as any other — catching logic errors, security anti-patterns, and missed edge cases rather than treating model output as production-ready. • AI-assisted debugging and trace analysis, and a clear understanding of the data privacy rules governing what goes into a prompt. • Integrating LLM APIs into production features — and knowing when a model is the wrong tool for the job. Working knowledge of RAG pipelines, embedding stores, and agent frameworks; familiarity with the Model Context Protocol is a plus. • Exposing telemetry to AI agents through tool interfaces agents can use safely: predictable schemas, bounded results, clear error semantics, sane cost controls. • Designing safeguards for non-deterministic components — retry logic, circuit breakers, human-in-the-loop checkpoints — and hardening against latency spikes and hallucinated output reaching a customer. • Instrumenting AI features in production and judging their quality from telemetry and evaluation rather than impressions. Staff Software Engineer - Product Security
ServiceNow · Petah Tikva

Job Description ServiceNow’s Product Security organisation is building a dedicated Security R&D function — a software engineering team that builds security capabilities with the same engineering rigour as ServiceNow’s product organisation. We are looking for a Staff Security Engineer to be a core contributor on this team. Security R&D operates in two complementary modes: open contribution to product engineering — writing code alongside product teams where security expertise adds value — and developing its own security capabilities, including internal tooling, externally facing product features, AI-powered security automation, and third-party integrations. This is a new team being stood up in Petah Tikva, Israel, co-located with ServiceNow’s AI Security Research team. You will help shape the team’s engineering practices and technical foundation from day one. This role reports to the Sr. Engineering Manager, Security R&D. What You Will Do Build Security Capabilities • Design and develop security tooling, automation, and platform services that operate at ServiceNow’s enterprise scale. • Contribute code directly into ServiceNow product engineering codebases, embedding security capabilities where they have the highest impact. • Build AI-powered security automation by integrating in-house models and third-party services into production workflows. • Leverage ServiceNow’s platform — Agent Framework runtime, ACL enforcement, data layer, and workflow engine — to create security capabilities that external vendors cannot match. Collaborate Across Teams • Work closely with the AI Security Research team on tooling for AI agent security, translating research insights into production-grade engineering. • Partner with product engineering teams during open contribution engagements, earning trust through code quality, reliability, and delivery. • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions, contributing to the team’s technical standards and engineering culture. Grow with the Team • Help define engineering best practices as a founding member of the Security R&D team. • Contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team scales, helping maintain the engineering bar. • Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies and security threats, bringing new ideas into the team’s roadmap. What Makes This Role Unique • Builder-led culture: Security R&D is defined by engineering output, not advisory reviews. We build production security capabilities with the same discipline as product engineering. • Dual operating model: The team both contributes directly to product engineering and develops its own security products and services. • Platform advantage: ServiceNow owns the entire stack — runtime, ACLs, data layer, workflow engine. You will build security capabilities that no external vendor can replicate. • Founding team: This is a new team being built from scratch. You will shape its engineering culture, technical standards, and identity from day one. • AI intersection: The role sits alongside the AI Security Research team, placing you at the frontier of securing AI systems at enterprise scale. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you have: • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems at scale. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. • Strong hands-on proficiency in Python and Java. Staff AI Security Specialist
ServiceNow · Petah Tikva

Job Description Our team secures the AI in ServiceNow's products and platform from adversaries. As AI agents gain the ability to reason, retrieve context, and take real action on behalf of users, they become a new and largely unmapped attack surface - and the controls that protect them mostly don't exist yet. We build them. We're looking for a Staff AI Security Specialist who sits at the intersection of AI and Security and is happiest building. This is an applied role: you'll spend your time reasoning about how agentic systems break and then writing the code that stops it, from prototype to shipped control in collaboration with Security Engineers. What you get to do in this role: • Analyze the security of AI agent systems - how the harness assembles context and drives the tool-calling loop, how agents plan and delegate, what they persist to memory, and how all of it responds to untrusted input - and find where an adversary can subvert them • Design and build security controls for agentic systems: static analysis of agent and tool configurations, runtime policy enforcement, behavioral detection, and mitigations for tool and goal hijacking • Build working prototypes end to end, then partner with engineering to harden the ones that prove out • Threat model new AI architectures and features before they ship, and turn findings into concrete controls rather than a list of risks • Red-team our own agents and our own defenses: indirect prompt injection, tool abuse, privilege escalation across agent boundaries, data exfiltration through model and tool channels • Build repeatable evaluations and benchmarks so we can measure whether a control actually holds, and prove it as models and products change underneath us • Track offensive and defensive AI security research and judge quickly what's real, what's noise, and what should change our roadmap • Advise product and platform teams building agentic features on secure design, and raise the team's collective depth in AI security • Publish what's worth publishing - internal research, patents, and external talks Qualifications To be successful in this role, you have: • Experience in leveraging integration of AI capabilities into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry. • 6+ years of combined experience in security, software engineering, or applied research, including 2+ years working hands-on with AI/ML or LLM-based systems, is required • Strong working knowledge of the agent harness and its security-relevant seams: system prompt and context construction, the tool-calling loop, context window management and compaction, sub-agent delegation, sandboxing and execution boundaries, is required • Working knowledge of agent memory and retrieval systems - what persists, who can write to it, and how it is read back - along with orchestration frameworks and tool protocols such as MCP, and the failure modes each introduces, is required • Demonstrated depth in at least one security domain (application security, offensive security, authorization and identity, or detection engineering), with the instinct to reason in terms of attacker capability, preconditions, and attack chains rather than checklists, is required • Practical understanding of the AI-specific threat landscape - prompt, tool, and goal hijacking, indirect injection through retrieved content, memory poisoning and adversarial instruction persistence across sessions, insecure agent configurations, cross-session and cross-tenant data leakage, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS - is required • Proficiency in Python, sufficient to independently build and ship working systems, is required • Ability to take an ambiguous problem statement to a working artifact, own it end to end, and abandon it without ceremony when the evidence says it doesn't work, is required • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both non-technical business users as well as technical stakeholders is required Preferred qualifications: • Experience building systems that make and enforce security decisions at runtime • Experience building static or dynamic analysis tooling • Experience with AI red-teaming, adversarial ML, or evaluating models and guardrails at scale • Published security or AI research, patents, CVEs, or meaningful open-source contributions Additional Information Work Personas We approach our distributed world of work with flexibility and trust.
