Tech Lead jobs in Israel
Job Description Join FED Core as a hands-on technical leader shaping the development experience of engineers across Wix. You’ll set technical direction, lead complex cross-company initiatives, and personally build the infrastructure and tools that help Wix engineers develop, test, integrate, and deliver software faster. While our expertise is rooted in the frontend ecosystem, our impact spans Wix’s entire engineering organization and crosses TypeScript, Node.js, Scala, Java, and the systems connecting them. In this role, you will: • Shape the technical vision and architecture for developer infrastructure used across Wix • Identify friction and velocity killers throughout the development lifecycle, then turn them into simple, scalable solutions • Lead high-impact initiatives from early exploration and technical design through implementation, adoption, and production • Remain deeply hands-on, investigating problems, writing code, building prototypes, and improving existing systems • Create tools and workflows that connect development across repositories, services, pull requests, local environments, and production • Drive AI-native engineering practices by exploring new capabilities and turning them into practical, everyday developer experiences • Work across organizational and technological boundaries, bringing the right people together and moving complex initiatives forward • Influence engineering standards and practices through technical expertise, strong judgment, and demonstrated results • Collaborate closely with infrastructure teams, product engineering groups, and developers across Wix to understand their needs and deliver meaningful improvements • Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar without formal people-management responsibilities Qualifications • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including significant work on large-scale systems, developer infrastructure, or engineering platforms • Deep expertise in frontend engineering and its ecosystem, including TypeScript, Node.js, modern development workflows, build systems, testing, and delivery • Strong system-design and architecture skills, with the ability to connect individual developer workflows to broader platform concerns • A proven record of initiating and delivering complex technical projects with impact beyond your immediate team • A builder’s mindset—you are comfortable moving between strategy, architecture, debugging, prototyping, and production code • Experience leading through influence, building alignment, and driving execution across multiple teams • Strong product thinking and empathy for developers as users • An AI-native approach to engineering, with practical experience using and integrating AI to improve how software is built • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, curiosity, and a proactive approach to ambiguous challenges • The ability to quickly understand a large engineering organization, find the right collaborators, and navigate dependencies effectively An Advantage • Experience building internal developer platforms, CLIs, SDKs, build tools, CI/CD systems, or local-development infrastructure • Experience working across frontend and backend stacks, particularly Scala or Java environments • Experience designing workflows spanning multiple repositories, services, and coordinated code changes • Experience driving adoption of developer tools across a large engineering organization Additional Information FED Core is a core group within Wix’s xEngineering Guild. We build and shape the development experience for engineers across Wix, with deep expertise in the frontend ecosystem. Our work goes beyond supporting a single team or technology. We create infrastructure and tools used throughout Wix engineering, lead cross-company efforts, and bring innovative ideas into developers’ day-to-day workflows. We focus on removing friction, improving developer velocity, and making it easier for engineers to take ideas from local development to production safely and efficiently.
