What You’ll Do Sunbit is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to join our high-impact Risk Team. The Risk Team sits at the heart of our decisioning engines, powering every Sunbit product through a state-of-the-art fusion of predictive machine learning models and real-time market strategies. In this role, you will lead backend development for new financial products, working closely with ML Engineers to build robust, fault-tolerant infrastructure that supports complex predictive models. You will design and scale high-volume, low-latency systems that execute critical financial decisions in milliseconds. We are looking for an engineer who understands end-to-end software architecture and possesses the business acumen to transform strategic goals into engineering reality. Key Responsibilities • Architect & Build: Design and implement resilient, low-latency backend solutions capable of handling high-throughput, high-availability demands. • Solve Complex Systems Challenges: Tackle intricate architectural problems by applying deep expertise in distributed systems and performance optimization. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with ML engineers, product managers, and data scientists to operationalize decisioning logic smoothly. • Maintain & Scale Infrastructure: Safeguard system health, ensure continuous operational stability, and optimize runtime performance. • Drive Technical Excellence: Advocate for clean code, solid design patterns, robust testing, and maintainable software architecture. • Mentor & Empower: Elevate the engineering team by mentoring junior developers, leading technical discussions, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Requirements • Proven track record in designing, scaling, and maintaining high-performance microservices architectures. • Hands-on proficiency with Python, Kafka, FastAPI, and relational databases like MySQL. • Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, clean code practices, and asynchronous programming. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical ambiguity. • Fluent in spoken and written English with strong collaboration skills. Position Overview: As a Senior Software Developer in Cellebrite Labs, your daily mission involves designing and developing advanced capabilities to extract digital evidence from modern Android and iOS devices. You will tackle some of the toughest security protections such as PAC, Secure Elements, Code Signing, Hypervisors, and more. Working in the heart of the Digital Intelligence Labs group, you will contribute to productizing world-unique capabilities that enable law enforcement and private sector customers to conduct legally sanctioned forensic investigations effectively and securely. This role requires a combination of deep technical knowledge, creativity, and persistence to solve complex problems while collaborating closely with top researchers and engineers. Your work will have a direct impact on investigations that save lives and uphold justice globally. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and contribute to the development of new extraction technologies for Android and iOS platforms. • Analyze and reverse-engineer low-level OS internals and security mechanisms. • Develop robust system-level software in C, C++, and Python. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and integrate new capabilities into Cellebrite’s Digital Intelligence platform. • Stay current with emerging mobile security technologies and forensic challenges. • Share knowledge and best practices within the team to elevate overall engineering quality. Requirements • 8+ years of software development experience (or equivalent military experience). • Expertise in system programming and Python programming – required. • Solid understanding of OS internals with hands-on experience in low-level programming (Android/Linux bootloaders and kernel) – required. • Experience with C/C++ programming and reverse engineering – advantage. • Proactive, curious mindset with strong problem-solving skills. • Excellent team-player with the ability to independently learn and explore new technologies.
