Job Description We are actively seeking a seasoned and passionate Senior Python Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our product. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible not only for delivering top-tier code quality but also for driving innovation, implementing best practices as we navigate the ever-evolving startup environment. What You'll Do Develop high-quality, robust Python code that meets and exceeds industry standards. Lead initiatives to continuously review and elevate internal code quality standards. Participate actively in decision-making processes, contributing to architectural design and technology research. Tackle diverse and complex problems related to scale, performance, and business logic. Participate in on-call rotations, responding to production incidents, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system reliability and availability. Requirements Minimum 6 years of overall development experience with at least 3 years dedicated to Python development, including Linux environments. Familiarity with the Django web framework. Proficiency with Relational Databases, showcasing expertise in indexes, database queries, schema creation, and query optimization. Hands-on experience with cloud providers and a strong understanding of best practices for cloud environments. Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, firewalls, etc.) is required. In-depth knowledge of software development best practices. Proven experience in Agile/Scrum software development, including sprint participation and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Independence, organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal English communication are essential. Effectively use AI-powered development tools to accelerate software delivery, enhance code quality, support troubleshooting, and improve developer productivity. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.

The Role We are seeking an exceptional senior-level Python engineer to join a small team working on complex data pipelines, AI/ML systems, and cutting-edge software solutions. This role will be responsible for managing technical objectives, providing technical leadership, and maintaining a hands-on approach to development. The ideal candidate will work closely across teams within WorldQuant as part of our business-facing technology organization. A successful candidate will possess deep expertise in Python development, data engineering, software architecture, and design principles. They should be able to mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and drive architectural decisions. Experience with AI and large language models (LLMs) is highly desirable. What You'll Bring • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from a top-tier institution. • 7+ years of experience as a Python developer, with a strong focus on data engineering and AI/ML systems. • Expert-level knowledge of Python and its ecosystem, including experience with data processing libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark. • Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and efficient data pipelines. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Expertise in version control systems (Git), CI/CD practices, and agile methodologies. • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Experience in the finance industry is a plus but not required. • Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, or scikit-learn, LLM, agents or systems of agents is a significant plus. #LI-DN1 By submitting this application, you acknowledge and consent to terms of the WorldQuant Privacy Policy. The Role: Our group is responsible for building software enabling both the large-scale quantitative research operations that drive WorldQuant’s platform and the production of our portfolio. The team is currently embarking on a multi-year journey to provide a powerful, scalable, and efficient platform to drive the firm’s next decade of growth. We are looking for someone who can own some of the unique technical challenges inherent in the problem and who can bring solid experience and perspective to the team. What You’ll Bring: A successful candidate will possess: • A minimum of 7 years of writing production-quality code in Python on Linux platform • Candidate must be willing to learn C++. Experience in C++ is a strong plus • Candidate must have strong interest and motivation to work with machine learning, deep learning, backtesting platform design and development technologies.
