Engineering Manager jobs in Tel Aviv-Yafo
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Sensitive Data Scanner (SDS) Telemetry team. The SDS group’s mission is to be the world’s easiest-to-use tool to discover, classify, manage, and report sensitive data risks across cloud, on-premise, and code environments. This team builds and scales the detection capabilities that scan all telemetry data flowing into Datadog — logs, APM spans, and RUM events — operating in streaming, at processing time, and at very large scale. You’ll lead a small, close-knit team based in Paris, with the opportunity to shape how the team grows as SDS Telemetry’s scope expands. It’s a chance to combine hands-on technical leadership with direct customer and product impact in the security and observability space. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture — the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. What You’ll Do: • Lead and grow a team of engineers building real-time sensitive data detection across Datadog’s Logs, APM, and RUM telemetry pipelines • Partner closely with the Logs, APM, and RUM teams, plus Datadog’s Trust & Safety team, to align on roadmap and integration priorities • Shape product direction by working closely with Product, grounding decisions in customer needs and business impact • Stay hands-on: contribute to design decisions and participate in the team’s on-call rotation • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers as the team grows beyond its initial size • Help build a strong engineering culture as part of Datadog’s broader Sensitive Data Scanner group Who You Are: • You have experience building and shipping revenue-generating products, with strong product acumen and a customer-first mindset • You have hands-on experience with Go and/or Java, and a track record building distributed, streaming systems at scale • You have experience managing engineers — or are ready to step into your first formal management role — and know how to set goals, give feedback, and help a team grow • You measure success through customer and business outcomes, not just output shipped • You’re comfortable weighing tradeoffs between speed and correctness, ideally from experience in a fast-moving environment Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That’s okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply. Benefits and Growth: • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups) • Access to Inclusion Talks, our internal panel discussions • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+ • Competitive global benefits Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog. #LI-Hybrid About Datadog: Datadog is the leading observability and security platform for the AI era, providing businesses with unified visibility across the technology stack to manage complexity at scale. Datadog's Tel Aviv engineering site builds across some of our fastest-moving product areas — from Product Analytics, to Universal Service Monitoring, to Security Monitoring, to the Software Delivery tools that help engineers everywhere ship and operate software safely. It's a site with real engineering depth, and we're investing in the on-site senior leadership to match it. We are looking for a Director of Engineering, based in Tel Aviv, to lead a multi-team engineering organization in one of these areas, and help shape the site as it grows. In this role, you will partner closely with product managers and with engineering leaders across Tel Aviv, Paris, and the US to shape the roadmap; grow and develop the team to match the business needs; raise the bar on engineering practices and craft; and play a central role in building the culture of a site we're investing in for the long term. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture — the relationships it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. This role is based in our Tel Aviv office, where being present on site is central to anchoring and growing the team. What You'll Do: • Manage and grow a team of talented engineers, making sure they deliver high-quality, timely work and that they're happy, motivated, and developing in their careers • Hire and develop senior talent, engineers and managers alike, raising the seniority bar on site as we scale • Grow and develop a team of engineering managers — coaching them as leaders and building the layer of leadership the site needs as it scales • Partner with product managers and designers to shape the future of the product • Work with engineering leaders in Tel Aviv, Europe, and the US to deliver cross-cutting projects across a multi-hub organization • Help shape the future of the Tel Aviv site and the broader engineering organization Who You Are: • You are a product-building leader with real product sense, comfortable working hand in hand with product and design to decide what to build, not just how to build it • You came up through engineering and can earn the trust of senior engineers in a fast conversation; you favor breadth and adaptability, and you can ramp quickly into a technical domain you didn't start in • You integrate AI into how you lead and how your teams build, treating AI-first thinking as core engineering practice rather than a feature bolted onto the product • You have hired, grown, and developed engineering teams, creating long-term plans for people's growth and motivation • You have managed managers — you've hired, coached, and developed engineering managers, and led an organization with multiple layers of leadership beneath you • You have operated in multi-geography companies at scale, and you can read and work effectively across different sites and company cultures • You want to be the senior engineering leader on the ground in Tel Aviv — setting the technical and cultural bar, and building a site rather than inheriting a finished one • You have a customer-focused mindset and a relentless drive to build products that address real needs • You bring real depth in at least one of our areas — web and product analytics, agentic or developer-experience products, low-level systems and networking, or security engineering Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply. Aidoc is deployed in more than 2,000 medical centers worldwide. Since our founding in 2016, Aidoc has raised over $500 million and achieved a record number of FDA-cleared solutions. Medical diagnosis is hitting a breaking point, where the number of physicians hasn't kept up with the rapidly growing patient load. With the opportunity to shape the product and its technical direction from the ground up, the FirstRead team will be accountable for the product outcome end-to-end. The team will work across the stack, using existing platform capabilities where possible, evolving them where needed, and building new services and capabilities when required. This is a role for a TL who enjoys shaping new products and turning evolving opportunities into clear technical direction. The team’s scope, architecture, priorities, and longer-term mission will evolve as we learn. You will play a central role not only in delivering FirstRead, but also in building the team itself and shaping how product-focused teams operate within Imaging Platform. You will work closely with Product, AI teams, and other engineering teams across Imaging Platform to turn rapidly evolving product needs into working software, while balancing speed, technical quality, and long-term platform considerations. Responsibilities • End-to-End Ownership: Lead the engineering effort required to make FirstRead successful, across engineering disciplines including backend, frontend, AI infrastructure, DICOM pipelines, existing platform services, and entirely new components. • Creating Clarity in a Fast-Moving Environment: Turn changing product needs and incomplete information into technical direction, priorities, and executable plans. Continuously adapt as the product evolves. • Technical Leadership: Drive architecture and technical decisions across a broad technical surface. Know when to move quickly, when to invest in robust solutions, and when to involve domain experts. • Cross-Team Engineering: Work closely with other TLs and engineers across Imaging Platform. Enable the team to contribute to existing services and platforms while respecting their architecture, ownership, and long-term direction. • Team Building: Build the FirstRead engineering team, establish its culture and ways of working, develop engineers, and help shape its longer-term mission as a product-focused team. • Delivery and Product Partnership: Partner closely with Product and other stakeholders, taking ownership of turning evolving product direction into concrete engineering execution. • Engineering Excellence: Maintain strong engineering standards while operating in a fast-moving environment, balancing experimentation and delivery speed with reliability, maintainability, and scalability. Requirements • Senior hands-on software engineering experience, including experience building complex systems end-to-end. • Exceptional track record leading engineering teams, while remaining actively involved in technical and architectural decisions. • Strong sense of urgency, with the ability to drive execution and maintain momentum in fast-paced, high-priority projects. • Proven ability to lead projects in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments, where requirements and technical direction are not fully defined upfront. • Broad technical experience and passion for working across different areas of the stack rather than specializing exclusively in a single domain. • Strong system design and software engineering fundamentals, with experience designing and building distributed production systems. • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an outcome from early concept through implementation, production, and continued evolution. • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively across engineering teams and organizational boundaries. • Strong product and business orientation, with the ability to balance technical considerations with speed, learning, and business impact. • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills. Advantages • Experience working in an environment with shared platforms and multiple engineering teams contributing to the same product. • Experience across multiple areas such as backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, or AI/ML systems. • Experience with AI-powered products or production AI systems.
