Job Description: • Responsible for performing CNC machine setup operations, including self-inspection and working with small, high-precision components. • Editing and optimizing G-Code programs for mass production processes. • Ensuring proper and stable machine operation immediately following setup completion or offset adjustments. • Performing basic part programming using SolidCAM. • Developing work plans and machining processes for company products, including optimization of cycle times, tooling, and raw material utilization. • Troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing preventive and routine machine maintenance as required. • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering blueprints. • Operating precision and automated measuring instruments to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. • Training and mentoring employees, while collaborating closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering departments. Job Requirements: • Proven experience as a Senior CNC Setup Technician, preferably with STAR, DECO-EVO, and TORNOS machines. • Experience operating and setting up 7-axis CNC machines or higher and conventional turning machines; significant advantage for experience with Swiss-Type machines. • Proven experience in CNC turning operations (mandatory). • Hands-on experience working with Swiss-Type CNC machines. • Experience in precision machining within the Medical Devices industry (mandatory). • Proven experience performing Full Set-Up processes independently (mandatory). • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints (mandatory). • Knowledge of and hands-on experience in G-Code programming (mandatory). Job Description Summary The On -Site Services - Machinist will have technical knowledge and experience working with GE/Alstom and oOEM turbines. The role is responsible for the on-site machining of major rotating equipment components, in addition to setting up and operating a variety of manual and numerically controlled machine tools. Job Description Key Responsibilities • Execute assignments according to GE EHS and Quality requirements & ensure rules are understood by the crew prior to the start of work. • Deblading and Reblading of Steam Turbines on site in accordance to approved instructions. • Perform maintenance of clean work areas, tooling and equipment. • Lead and supervise diaphragm repair jobs at Customer sites and act as the representative of On Site Services Specialist (OSS) in front of the customer (internal and external) to ensure safe, quality and timely completion of work. • Perform in-situ machining operations, including milling, boring, flange facing, drilling, grinding, and turning, on gas and steam turbine components. • Operate portable boring bars and machining equipment for precise machining of turbine casings, bearing housings, and diaphragms. • Perform steam turbine diaphragm alignment to restore concentricity and minimize efficiency losses. • Complete all pre-job planning and post job reporting required, fulfilling the needs of the customer as assigned including machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies. • Special duties can include but not be limited to: projects as assigned by management, development of innovative service offerings, delivery of training, and drive safety, quality, and customer-centric culture. • Must be willing to travel globally on short notice, and for extended periods of time during outage seasons; and the willingness to work weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day-to-day basis.​ Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field from an accredited university or college, or a high school degree with relevant work experience. • Minimum 3 years of experience in machining, preferably on power generation equipment with experience on GE/Alstom and OEM Turbines • Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and work in a team of Onsite Service Crew. • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Able to understand/read technical work instructions in English. • This position requires 90% travel for work globally on short notice and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays. ​ ​Desired Characteristics • Welding experience in steam & gas turbine parts according to OEM process. • Has the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel • Ability to work under pressure; Take ownership of onsite activities • Willing to travel, in country and worldwide, and to work over-time • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills • Good interpersonal and organizational skills. • Ability to handle complex work-packages. • Ability to work in different countries and cultures. • Cross-Cultural Conflict Resolution and ability to mediate interpersonal issues within a diverse crew is vital. • Mentorship/Coaching: Beyond just "training," the ability to create structured development plans for junior technicians to accelerate their competency. • Cultural Intelligence (CQ): Proactive knowledge of regional business etiquette and safety protocols in different international markets.
