Description We’re a fast-growing Applied AI for D2C brands(ecommerce & retail) startup working with leading brands in Israel and the US, backed by a16z, and top Silicon Valley VCs. Our platform helps brands uncover conversion leaks and deliver personalized, optimized experiences in real time. We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join as one of the first technical hires and help shape the product, architecture, and engineering culture from an early stage. This is a hands-on role with high ownership, working closely with the founding team on both product and technical direction. What You’ll Do • Design, build, and ship core product features end-to-end • Build agents, harness, tools, skills and scale existing agentic workflows • Make architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and infrastructure • Work closely with founders on product direction and technical strategy • Build scalable, reliable systems that operate in high-traffic production environments • Develop systems that enable real-time personalization and experimentation • Balance fast iteration with robustness, performance, and long-term maintainability • Help define engineering best practices, tooling, and culture Why Join • Founding-level impact and equity • Direct influence on product, architecture, and technical direction • Opportunity to work on hard, real-world problems at the intersection of AI, data, and UX • Build technology that runs on some of the world’s most recognizable D2C brands • Work closely with an experienced founding team Requirements Requirments • Strong generalist engineer with experience across the stack • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent depth) • Experience building and working with AI agents or agentic systems • Experience working with large-scale data (event streams, analytics, high-volume datasets) • Strong understanding of the browser runtime ecosystem (JavaScript execution, DOM, performance, security, edge cases) • Solid fundamentals in system design, APIs, data modeling, and performance • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making high-impact technical decisions • Strong ownership mindset — you care deeply about outcomes, not just implementation Tech Stack • We don’t expect expertise in everything, but you should be comfortable working across much of the following: • Backend: Node.js, JavaScript • Frontend: React, JavaScript • Cloud & Infra: GCP • Data: BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Redis • Messaging / Streaming: Google Pub/Sub Bonus (Not Required) • Experience with AI/ML-powered products • Background in experimentation, personalization, analytics, or growth platforms • Previous early-stage startup or founding experience • Experience owning and operating production systems in customer-facing environments

Our platform helps eCommerce brands uncover conversion leaks, run AI-suggested experiments, and deliver personalized, optimized experiences in real time. We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to join the founding team and help shape the product, architecture, and engineering culture from an early stage. This is a deeply hands-on role. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated by technology, still loves building, and wants to stay close to the code, architecture, product, and technical decisions. At the same time, this role is intended to grow into a broader R&D leadership position as the company scales. We’re looking for someone with a proven management track record, ideally someone who has previously been promoted into engineering leadership and managed development teams — preferably at least at group manager level or equivalent. The right person combines strong technical depth, product intuition, high ownership, and real leadership ability. Description About Variant We’re a fast-growing AI Personalization startup working with leading brands in Israel and the US, backed by a16z and top Silicon Valley VCs. Our platform helps brands uncover conversion leaks and deliver personalized, optimized experiences in real time. The Role Join our product team as a Product Manager with a strong Product Design / UX background. UX and UI are a main focus of this role: you’ll take a problem, think through the product and the experience, bring it to life, and own features from idea to production. You’ll also own product design at Variant. You set the bar for how the product looks, feels and works, own the design system, and design the frontend for the features we build. With tools like Claude Code, you’ll build working interfaces, experiment directly in code, and take features from idea to launch yourself. It’s a great fit for a product designer ready to step into product management. What You’ll Do • Take full, end-to-end ownership of your features, moving fast from discovery to launch. • Turn customer feedback, data and roadmap priorities into features users really need. • Own UX and UI across Variant’s product, including the design system, from complex workflows to polished interactions. • Design user flows and interactions, prototype them in code, and build the frontend for your features yourself, from mock to production. • Collaborate with engineering to bring features into production, often starting from frontend implementations you’ve already built. What We’re Looking For • An entrepreneurial self-starter who is detail-oriented and motivated by impact. • 2-4 years of experience in product design, UX, product management or a similar hybrid role. • Strong product design and UX skills: you know what makes an experience intuitive, seamless and effective, and can design it yourself. You care about how products work, not just how they look. • You’re already using AI coding tools like Claude Code as a core part of how you work. • A strong product mindset: you think about problems and outcomes, make decisions quickly, take full ownership, and thrive in a fast-changing environment. • Comfortable working closely with engineers and understanding technical constraints.
