Technical Operations Engineer
Nilus · Tel Aviv-Yafo

Who Are We? Applied AI for liquidity. Corporate finance teams still manage cash by hand — stitching together spreadsheets, bank portals and ERP data across Treasury, AR and AP. Most treasury tools stop at visibility: a dashboard someone still has to read, interpret and act on. Nilus goes further. We're building an agentic workforce for treasury — AI agents that reconcile cash, forecast liquidity and automate finance ops across every bank and ERP, in one connected system for Treasury, AR and AP. We're a Series A company backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Felicis, Perpetual Growth and Better Tomorrow Ventures, led by a team of ex-fintech pros transforming the finance function. About the Role We’re looking for a highly motivated, tech-savvy Technical Operations Engineer to join our Customer Operations team at Nilus AI. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of technology, customers, operations, and product, offering an opportunity to gain experience, take ownership, and make a real impact. You'll work directly with customers, manage technical implementation processes, solve technical challenges, and help us improve and automate how we work. We're looking for someone who is curious, resourceful, technically strong, and eager to learn. Someone who enjoys figuring things out, takes initiative, and uses technology and AI to find smarter ways of working. What You'll Do • Own Technical Implementations: Manage bank connectivity setups, system integrations, and technical onboarding processes from start to finish. • Solve Technical Challenges: Troubleshoot integrations, investigate connectivity issues, analyze data, and find practical solutions. • Build & Automate: Use AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and improve operational efficiency. • Bridge Operations & Product: Identify product gaps, suggest improvements, and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams. • Take Ownership: Proactively drive tasks and technical challenges through resolution, working independently and collaboratively when needed. What We're Looking For • 1–3 Years of Relevant Experience: Background in technical operations, implementations, integrations, Product Operations, or similar technical roles. • Strong Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and learn new technologies quickly. • AI Proficiency: Hands-on experience using AI tools to solve problems, build solutions, and automate workflows. • Excellent English: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with international customers. • Problem-Solving & Ownership: Curious, resourceful, and proactive, with a willingness to take responsibility and figure things out. • High Motivation & Adaptability: Fast learner with a strong work ethic, a hands-on attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Nice to Have • Familiarity with APIs, SFTP, file formats, or system integrations. • Experience in a B2B SaaS environment. • Background in fintech, financial systems, or banking integrations. • Experience with scripting, no-code/low-code tools, or AI-driven automation.

The role You will join Nilus as Head of Engineering and a member of the Nilus leadership forum. Nilus is an AI-powered Treasury Management System for mid-market and enterprise finance teams, connecting banks, ERPs and payment rails into one platform for cash visibility, forecasting, payments, debt, reconciliation and close, with agentic AI running work treasury teams do by hand today. You will own how Nilus builds and ships: delivery predictability, production quality, and the engineering organization that produces both. The role is both hands-on and managerial. As Nilus 2.0 moves from build to scale, you will run R&D execution end to end, so product, AI architecture and customer delivery can each move fast and in sync. What you'll own • Delivery: run the R&D operating cadence across domain teams (planning, estimation, release trains) and make commitments the business can rely on. • Quality and reliability: own uptime, data integrity and incident response for systems that move and report real money. Set SLOs, testing standards and on-call. • Team: hire, lead and grow engineers and engineering managers, with team structures mapped to product domains and clear ownership. • Engineering practice: raise the bar on code review, CI/CD, observability and security, and make AI-assisted development the default way the team works. • Hands-on leadership: review architecture and code, and work with the team through production issues. • Partnership: work with Product on scope and trade-offs, with AI architecture on platform direction, and with customer teams on integrations and enterprise escalations. • Security and compliance: own engineering's part in SOC 2, bank and enterprise security reviews. What we're looking for • 10+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years leading managers and multi-team orgs. • Proven record shipping B2B SaaS to enterprise customers on predictable timelines. • Hands-on: able to review architecture. • Experience with systems where data correctness is critical, such as fintech, payments, banking or accounting. • Strong with modern cloud stacks (AWS, Python/TypeScript, Postgres, event-driven pipelines). • Daily user of AI coding tools, with experience making a whole team faster with them. • Hands-on AI development experience within the last year, including shipping LLM-based or agentic features to production, including evaluation, guardrails and cost/latency trade-offs. • Understanding of AI system building blocks: model APIs, RAG, tool use, and observability for AI workflows. • Experience owning cloud infrastructure at scale: AWS, infrastructure-as-code, containers and Kubernetes. • Strong background in reliability and data infrastructure: monitoring, SLOs, incident management, and batch and streaming pipelines. • Nice to have: treasury, ERP or bank integrations (NetSuite, SAP, bank APIs, ISO 20022). Leadership qualities • Builds trust fast and leads by example, with high personal ownership of outcomes. • Clear, direct communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to business and leadership peers. • Develops people: coaches msanagers and engineers, gives honest feedback, and grows future leaders. • Sets a high bar and holds teams accountable, while keeping a healthy, collaborative culture. • Makes sound decisions under ambiguity and pressure, and knows when to move fast and when to slow down. • Strong partner across Product, Customers and leadership; resolves conflict constructively. • Thrives in a fast-paced startup and is comfortable with change.
