Description We're looking for an Automation Engineer to join the System Automation team, the central automation team within Earnix's engineering department. SA owns the company-wide system automation platform: the system, correctness and performance tests, and the pipelines that run them, across Earnix products and a rich technology stack. Our current focus is scale and performance. We test the limits of the system, benchmark it against realistic, large-scale workloads, and catch performance regressions before every release. We're also turning that expertise into a platform, with frameworks, tooling and know-how that let product teams write and run system tests themselves. You'll work closely with developers, architects, product managers, QA and DevOps engineers, and you'll help shape both the tests and the platform. What you'll do: Design, build and evolve the SA platform: the frameworks, tooling and CI pipelines that run system, correctness and performance tests across Earnix products. Plan and run system-limitations testing to find where the product breaks under data volume, concurrency and load, and turn the findings into clear, actionable results. Build and maintain performance benchmarks on realistic workloads, and run them on to catch regressions early. Make it easy for product teams to own their system tests by creating reusable building blocks, documentation and examples, and by coaching engineers through knowledge-sharing sessions. Analyze results with developers and architects to pinpoint bottlenecks and drive fixes. Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to speed up test creation and maintenance, and keep up with what's changing in automation and performance engineering. Requirements You'll do it using: 3+ years of experience in automation or software development, with strong focus on server-side with Python Hands-on experience building test frameworks or test infrastructure, not only writing test cases Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar), Git and Docker Experience with AWS and Linux environments Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Advantage: Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g. Locust, JMeter, k6) Experience with Kubernetes (preferably EKS) Experience with metrics and observability tools (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus) for analyzing system behavior under load Experience generating test data at scale Background in mathematics or statistics, for analyzing benchmark results You'll excel by: Bringing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and digging into the data until you find the root cause Thinking at the system level, beyond individual components Working independently and owning outcomes end to end as a fast learner who gets things done Communicating clearly and enjoying helping other engineers succeed with the tools you build Being resourceful, creative and pragmatic Position Intro Earnix is the first AI company purpose-built for insurance decisioning, providing the industry with the intelligence, governance, and decisioning agility to drive profitable growth, improve resilience, and operate with speed and precision in a rapidly changing risk environment. Description We're looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer to join the App Studio & Intelligence team within Earnix's GenAI Group. Our group builds the company's core Generative AI products — including a company-wide agents platform and customer-facing AI assistants — enabling teams across Earnix and our customers to design and deploy AI-driven solutions. In this role, you'll design and build scalable microservices and cloud-native infrastructure at the heart of our GenAI applications, working with advanced AI capabilities such as knowledge bases, embeddings, LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, and evaluation systems. You'll be a senior technical voice on the team — owning complex features end-to-end, raising the engineering bar, and shaping how AI capabilities are delivered in production. What You'll Do Design, build, and own backend services and infrastructure for our GenAI applications — scalable, resilient, production-grade systems running on AWS. Build the APIs, data pipelines, and backend integrations that power advanced AI capabilities, including knowledge bases, embeddings, LLM orchestration, agent workflows, and evaluation frameworks, with attention to performance, scalability, and security. Lead complex design efforts — driving architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decisions for significant areas of the system. Collaborate closely with product, data science, and other engineering teams to translate business needs into robust backend solutions that enable AI-agent use cases. Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, mentoring less experienced engineers, and championing best practices in quality, observability, and operational excellence. Take ownership of production health, including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and continuously improving system reliability. Requirements You'll do it using: 5+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale, with a strong sense of ownership from design through deployment and operations. Deep expertise in microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems, with cloud-native design experience on AWS (or GCP/Azure) using Kubernetes and Helm. Proficiency in Python for building scalable backend services, with a focus on clean, production-grade code and seamless integration of AI components. Hands-on experience integrating Generative AI into backend systems, including LLMs, knowledge bases, and agent frameworks, plus familiarity with tooling such as AWS Bedrock, LangChain/LangGraph and vector databases. Solid experience with data and messaging technologies — SQL/NoSQL databases, caching layers, and message brokers such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Elasticsearch. Strong command of observability practices, with hands-on experience in tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk for monitoring, distributed tracing, and alerting. Fluency in agile development and delivery tooling such as Jira, with a track record of consistently shipping high-quality software in fast-moving environments. You'll Excel By Bringing technical depth and pragmatism — knowing when to invest in elegance and when to ship, and making sound trade-offs under real-world constraints. Communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical partners, and influencing decisions through well-reasoned arguments rather than title. Being curious and adaptable — staying ahead of the fast-moving GenAI landscape and bringing new techniques and tools into the team. Fostering collaboration and trust across product, engineering, and data science teams. Driving a culture of ownership and accountability — treating the system's quality, reliability, and user experience as your own Position Intro Earnix is the first AI company purpose-built for insurance decisioning, providing the industry with the intelligence, governance, and decisioning agility to drive profitable growth, improve resilience, and operate with speed and precision in a rapidly changing risk environment. Description As DevOps Team Lead, you'll lead in matrix a team of DevOps engineers who work alongside R&D teams to deliver new features in Earnix's cloud-based decisioning products for global insurers and banks. Your engineers bring the infrastructure, deployment, and operational side of each feature, from design through production. You own your engineers' growth, standards, and technical quality, while their day-to-day work runs inside other teams' delivery plans. Success means features that ship on time, run reliably in production, and are built the right way from the start. Your team also takes part in the on-call rotation for Earnix's main products, so production reliability is part of the job, not an afterthought. What You'll Do: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers who work with multiple R&D and product teams. Lead within a matrix structure, where your engineers take part in other teams' planning and delivery while you own their professional growth, engineering standards, and technical direction. Partner with R&D group leaders, product managers, and architects to plan the DevOps work each new feature needs, and to allocate the right people to it. Balance competing priorities across the teams you support: manage capacity, make trade-offs transparent, and escalate when priorities conflict. Bring DevOps into feature work early: design reviews, non-functional requirements, deployment strategy, security, cost, and production readiness. Keep practices consistent across teams, so that infrastructure, pipelines, and deployments follow shared standards rather than one-off solutions. Work closely with the Cloud Platform team to use and extend shared platform capabilities, and feed back requirements that come from feature work. Improve delivery speed through automation, AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows. Ensure the production readiness of new features: observability, alerting, runbooks, and smooth handover to Support and operations. Lead your team's participation in the 24/7 on-call rotation for Earnix's main products, including fair scheduling, readiness, and escalation paths. Drive incident response and blameless post-mortems, and make sure lessons learned turn into fixes in the teams you support. Make sure on-call engineers have what they need to handle incidents in products they didn't build: runbooks, dashboards, alerting, and knowledge sharing with R&D teams. Define and track team goals and KPIs that cover delivery predictability, quality, and satisfaction of the teams you support. Requirements You'll Do It Using: 7+ years of DevOps experience, including at least 2 years managing engineers. Proven experience leading in a matrix organization, where the people you manage work day to day with other teams or also answer to other leads. Experience delivering features alongside product and R&D teams in an agile environment. Strong stakeholder management, with a track record of aligning several teams on priorities and resolving conflicts constructively. Hands-on experience with on-call and incident management for production SaaS systems, ideally including leading incident response. Production expertise with AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform. Strong background in CI/CD (Jenkins or equivalent), GitOps (ArgoCD), Helm, and Docker. Solid cloud networking, security, and IAM fundamentals. Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog. Scripting in Python and/or Bash. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt the message for engineers, product managers, and senior leadership. Advantages: A background as a software developer, or experience working closely with application code. Experience with platform engineering concepts and internal developer platforms. Familiarity with FinOps and designing features with cost in mind. Familiarity with AI-assisted and agentic development tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude). Experience in a global company working across time zones. You'll Excel By: Leading through influence as well as authority. Thinking like a product engineer: caring about what ships and how it performs for customers. Staying structured and calm when several teams need your people at once. Keeping a steady head during production incidents, and caring about your team's sustainability on call. Being proactive, accountable, and collaborative in a fast-paced, growing environment.
